Club Celebrates Thanh’s SBA Award
About 20 Kiwanians and their wives helped Thanh and Ginger Nguyen celebrate the awarding of “The 2008 California Small Business Person of the Year” to Dr. Thanh Nguyen for his outstanding work with his business, Knowlwood Enterprises.
The competition is open to all small businesses in California and must meet several rigid requirements. Besides business successes, the Nguyens
take much interest in training their employees in the skills that make for success. They accommodate their employees needs for attending classes and provide counseling and assistance for their needs in the community and family. No wonder there is a desire to work at Knowlwoods.
The Nguyen family invited their friends to a special BBQ at the Knowlwoods Restaurant on 17th Street in Santa Ana. The affair began at 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 27 and it lasted until everyone had successfully used up their supply of energy There was food for everyone – no one went hungry.
The lady that had presented the award to the Dr.Nguyen took great pride in his accomplishments and shared her interesting life with many of the Kiwanians around her. It turned out that she knew all about the International Kiwanian project to supply salt/iodine throughout the world to avoid child blindness and other complications.
After the delicious meal, Thanh and Ginger “kicked up their heels” in celebration with a very lively Texas Two-Step. Eventually several other Kiwanis couples ventured out onto the floor to the pleasure of everyone in the audience. As always, the custom at Knowlwoods was “No one goes hungry at the Nguyen’s.
